What would Alexandre Dumas’ Count of Montecristo’s home look like if he owned an apartment in Paris? Literature lovers will discover it at Hotel Monte Cristo, the second venture by independent hotel group Les Hoteliers Impertinents, which is located in Paris' 5th arrondissement, around the corner from the Pantheon. Taking cues from by Dumas’ Caribbean ancestry and from the Count’s various travels around the world, the rooms include tapestries which depict far-flung landscapes, exotic plants and a curious mix of accessories - including a wunderkammer featuring taxidermic tropical birds. Given Dumas’ ancestry, a trip to hotel’s watering hole is a must, considering it is known to be the bar with the best selection of rum available in Paris.
